The journey of Museo Camera began in 2009 in the basement of Photographer, Historian, Archivist, Aditya Arya as a personal collection of Photographic equipment. Today it is the largest not-for-profit crowd funded Centre for Photographic Arts in South East Asia. A unique public - private partnership between India Photo Archive Foundation and The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram - it is one of a kind in India with 18,000 sq. ft. of space dedicated to the art of Photography.

In 2009, Museo Camera had its modest beginnings in the basement of Mr. Aditya Arya, a renowned Photographer, Historian, and Archivist. It started as a personal collection of photographic equipment. However, thanks to a unique public-private partnership between the India Photo Archive Foundation and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, Museo Camera has transformed into the largest not-for-profit center for photographic arts in South East Asia. With an impressive dedicated space spanning 18,000 sq. ft., Museo Camera stands as an unparalleled institution in India, entirely devoted to the art of photography. Its grand inauguration in 2019 further solidified its exceptional status as a remarkable public-private endeavor alongside the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram.
